I ordered Luvbiotics toothpaste to work aloneside Luvbiotics mouthwash. Not clear from tube design that it is toothpaste.Initial thought is nothing special with this product for the price its selling for.Tube lasted me about 3 weeks, cleaning morning and night.Smooth texture paste with a mild minty flavouring which is actually tastes really nice.Teeth feel really clean after use and breath stays fresh for about 4hrs. Works really well with mouthwash providing a gentle but thorough cleaning experience.Overall, really like this toothpaste just wish it was cheaper.I would recommend this product
This toothpaste has a lovely mellow taste and isn’t strong at all. Having said that it really works at eliminating bad breath from only a few uses. It’s brilliant for keeping your mouth feeling really healthy and well looked after whilst whitening and fighting plaque. After trying this toothpaste there’s no going back. Would recommend !
I probably should mention that I am a microbiologist. Now my review:In terms of taste, it's mild mint and felt nice in my mouth! This toothpaste has 3 important ingredients: Sodium Fluoride, Xylitol, and Lactobacillus.Sodium Fluoride is the essential ingredient in any toothpast. It's the chemical that effectively fights tooth cavity. So any toothpaste you use must have sodium fluoride.Xylitol is relatively unique to this toothpaste. There some scientific peer-reviewed studies that have found evidence that xylitol may be important in preventing or even reversing tooth cavity!By now the Luvbiotics toothpaste seems better than your normal toothpaste because in addition to sodium fluoride it also has xylitol. The most unique ingredient of all in this toothpaste is Lactobacillus which is one of the good bacterial species that constitute the flore normal of our gastrointestinal tract! There are numerous studies that have shown the importance and benefits of Lactobacillus in our gut. However, based on my preliminary research there has been no scientific studies done on the benefits of Lactobacillus in toothpaste for mouth and teeth hygiene.Price wise this toothpaste bis among the most expensive toothpastes in the market. In conclusion, this toothpaste does seem to have potentially more benefits than the normal toothpastes due to the addition of xylitol and Lactobacillus in its ingredients. Xylitol's benefits in toothpaste are backed by science but benefits of Lactobacillus in toothpaste still needs to be confirmed by peer-reviewed studies as far as I am aware of the scientific literature.I have been using this toothpaste in alternative days with my usual toothpaste. If the Lactobacillus is beneficial for mouth hygiene I think alternative usage of this toothpaste with your cheaper usual toothpaste should still be beneficial. If you don't mind the price, I recommend it. Otherwise, your normal toothpaste that contains sodium fluoride is your best and most effective defence against tooth cavity.
This is a minty toothpaste that rather than trying to kill all the bacteria in the mouth (as some dental products on the market do), this, a bit like probiotic yogurts and supplements for the gut, tries to promote healthy bacteria for the mouth. After doing a bit of research it seems that this method of dental care is still in it's relative infancy, though there was a study carried out on rats by the Department of Biochemical Science and Technology at the National University Of Taiwan that I found details on. That showed that the rat group that was given the probiotic Lactobacillus parcasei (found in this toothpaste) showed significantly less Streptococcus mutans (the bacteria that cause tooth decay) than those rats that weren't given it, which is very promising. There is a definite logic to it in my opinion. Rather than kill all bacteria (as some mouthwashes do), why not boost the healthy bacteria that naturally combat the bad.In terms of using the toothpaste, it's a translucent grey in colour and it tastes great but don't expect a lot of foam when brushing. In fact there's so little that it feels weird brushing, like you aren't doing it right and need a load more toothpaste on your brush, especially if you've come from a "normal" toothpaste. This is to be expected given that Luvbiotics have chosen not to use foaming ingredients found in those other toothpastes, but it still feels odd if you are used to them.It also is a whitening toothpaste and though I haven't seen any miracles, my teeth do seem a bit whiter. The main issue with this toothpaste for me though is the price. At £10.95 for a 75 ml tube (as of Feb 2021) it is asking a lot from you when a toothpaste from a major respected brand (admittedly a non probiotic), is probably going to be around around a fifth of the cost. But, if you are after a more natural dental product and are OK with the cost then you will be pleased with this and the resulting clean teeth.
I spent over £30 on products. Emailed the company twice and have had no response. I will keep trying to contact to find out where my items are.
